Education
Rik completed his Dutch Law studies at Maastricht University in 1999.

Work experience
Rik started his career as a researcher at the Institute for Law and Technology at Tilburg University. He gained extensive experience there, particularly with regard to the legal aspects of ICT and electronic trade via computerised systems. After six years he switched to one of the major Dutch law firms, where he worked as an attorney in the Intellectual Property and ICT section. Subsequently, Rik spent three years working at a niche firm in the areas of intellectual property and ICT. He has been a partner at QuestIE since 1 May 2010.
